, ‘The “Yeoju Yeongchwisan Heungguksa Area” is a place where tens of thousands of azaleas form colonies, harmoniously blending with unique rock formations and water systems. The National Heritage Administration explained, “This natural heritage possesses outstanding scenic value, allowing views of various landscapes such as the cherry tree colonies at the summit of the mountain, the sea landscape of the southern coast’s archipelago, and the view of the Yeosu Peninsula.”’,

, ‘Heungguksa, located at the foot of Yeongchwisan, is also a symbolic site of national protection Buddhism where the monk soldiers were active during the Joseon Dynasty.
