Typhoon ‘Jongdari’ approaching north… Strong and heavy rains in the southern region and Jeju [Weather]

Today, Typhoon Jangmi, which is the 9th typhoon of this year, has formed and is heading north towards South Korea.

It is expected to pass near Seogwipo in the afternoon tomorrow as a small-sized typhoon, and then weaken into a tropical low pressure system in the western waters of Gunsan the day after tomorrow.

Currently, a typhoon advisory has been issued for Jeju and its nearby waters, and strong winds are expected from tomorrow afternoon.

Significant rainfall is forecasted for Jeju and some southern regions, with over 100mm expected near the southern coast and Jirisan area. Heavy rainfall of 30-50mm per hour is expected.

Central and North Jeolla, North Gyeongsang provinces will experience showers instead of heavy rain tomorrow.

The hot and humid air brought by the typhoon will lead to continued heatwaves and tropical nights. Seoul is expected to reach 27 degrees in the morning tomorrow and soar up to 36 degrees during the hot afternoon, prompting a heat wave advisory.

The day after tomorrow, rain is expected nationwide with Seoul experiencing a decrease in the heat to the level of a heatwave. This was the weather forecast.
