Toyota Korea donates 60 million won to the ‘Dream Tree Orchestra’.

[Economist Reporter Park Se-jin] Korea Toyota Motor announced on the 13th that it has donated 60 million won to the “Anyone’s Dream Orchestra” at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on the 12th to expand art education opportunities for children and adolescents from culturally marginalized groups.

The donation ceremony took place at a summer camp held in the forest village of Dobong, Seoul. Kim Hyung-jun, director of Korea Toyota Motor, and Shin Dong-jun, head of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, attended and personally encouraged the orchestra members.

This donation will be used for instrument education, summer camp operations, and preparations for the regular concert to be held at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts on November 23. Especially this year, the number of members with disabilities will be increased from 10 to 20 to support more children and adolescents in participating in artistic activities.

Korea Toyota Motor has been supporting the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts for four years since signing a business agreement in 2021. The accumulated donation amount reaches approximately 280 million won.

Last year, it supported the first regular concert held at the Grand Theater of the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts and a performance with the KBS Symphony Orchestra to encourage the Paralympic national team, allowing both disabled and non-disabled members to perform on stage together.

Kim Hyung-jun, director of Korea Toyota Motor, stated, “We will continue to support children and adolescents in discovering and developing their unique potentials through art,” and added, “We will also continue to undertake various community contribution activities that grow alongside the local community.”

Meanwhile, Korea Toyota Motor was selected as an “Excellent Public-Private Partnership Institution for 2024” by the Seoul Metropolitan Government for its contribution to supporting the “Anyone’s Dream Orchestra” and received a commendation from the Mayor of Seoul.

Additionally, it is continuing support activities for future generations, such as the “T-TEP” program for nurturing automotive talents in collaboration with 8 universities and 5 high schools nationwide, and the “Lexus Creative Masters,” a support project for emerging craft artists.
