The museum cultural product ‘Muze’ surpassed 41.3 billion won in sales last year, setting a record high.
The National Museum Cultural Foundation announced today (13th) that Muze’s sales last year amounted to approximately 41.37 billion won, almost doubling from 21.2 billion won in 2024.
A key product, the ‘Magpie & Tiger Badge,’ which was selected in a 2024 competition, sold about 90,000 units annually, recording 1.3 billion won in sales. This badge, reminiscent of characters from the Netflix animation ‘K-pop Demon Hunters,’ gained explosive popularity, even leading to a shortage.
Looking at the age groups of those who purchased the products, people in their 30s and 40s accounted for 35.4% and 25.9%, respectively, emerging as the main consumer base.
Additionally, it was confirmed that 9 out of 10 purchasers of Muze at the museum were locals.
This year, the foundation plans to continue its global expansion by strengthening cooperation with overseas museums and linking with major international events such as the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
