The “2025 Youth Culture Week” will be held on August 29-30 at a multi-cultural space in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, under the theme “Youth Culture Usage: Four Rooms,” as announced by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism on the 26th. This event aims to reflect the policy direction of creating a cultural foundation that enables youth growth by diagnosing and empathizing with the lives and realities of youth from a cultural perspective, and gathering insights and opinions from the younger generation.
Minister of Culture Hwi-young Choi previously stated during his inauguration ceremony that establishing a foundation for youth to grow is the starting point of becoming a cultural powerhouse and pledged support for the youth to fully realize their potential across all cultural and artistic fields.
This year’s Youth Culture Week has been designed to help young people explore, connect, inspire, and execute as they express their tastes and lifestyle and design their “own cultural usage.” To facilitate this, areas in Seongsu-dong, a popular youth area, will feature spaces corresponding to each stage: “Exploration Room,” “Connection Room,” “Inspiration Room,” and “Execution Room.”
In the “Inspiration Room,” various speakers and young artists will hold talk concerts and performances. One of the talks will feature former KIA Tigers pitcher Seok-min Yoon discussing “The Stage Has Changed, but Still Preparing,” along with K-pop choreographer Hyojin Choi and Ji-hyun Lee, CEO of “Culture and Art for You.” Performances will include the hip-hop duo “LeeJjanaUnJjana” and the electronic band based on traditional Korean music, “64Ksana.”
The “Exploration Room,” “Connection Room,” and “Execution Room” will host a variety of participatory events that allow young people to gain cultural experiences. This Youth Culture Week is free to attend, and interested individuals can register in advance via the Naver reservation website until the 28th.
Jeong-mi Lee, the cultural policy director at the Ministry of Culture, remarked that the ministry will continue to establish a robust foundation for youth to enjoy culture, expand their possibilities, and dream of the future through culture.
