Sharing of AI and Digital Transformation Examples in Culture, Sports, and Tourism Fields…Competition Awards Ceremony and Experiential Exhibitions Held Together The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with specialized agencies in the culture, sports, and tourism sectors such as the Korea Culture Information Service Agency, Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Korea Tourism Organization, Korea Arts and Culture Commission, Korea Copyright Commission, and the Korea Creative Content Agency, held the ‘2025 Culture, Sports, and Tourism AI·Digital Innovation Forum’ on the 18th at Seoul Dragon City in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Now in its third year, the forum was themed ‘Digital Transformation of Daily Culture, AI-Driven Innovation,’ sharing examples of digital transformation and AI-based innovations in culture, sports, and tourism sectors while discussing the developmental direction of the digital cultural ecosystem.
The event included an opening ceremony, the ‘2025 Culture Digital Innovation and Data Utilization Competition’ awards ceremony, keynote speeches, and expert discussions. Additionally, a separate experience hall allowed viewing of award-winning works and innovation examples.
The competition ran from June 2 to July 18, with a total of 223 teams participating. Out of these teams, 17 winners were selected, including five grand prizes, five excellence awards, five encouragement awards, and two AI special awards. The grand prize winners, five teams, received the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Award and directly presented their innovations at the forum.
The grand prize-winning works included Lukas Entertainment’s ‘K In My Hands,’ Gil-Han Kim’s virtual traditional instrument ‘Joseon Series,’ Kazer’s ‘AI Music Component Combination Search Service,’ Plat’s ‘Developmental Delay Screening and Care Solution,’ and ‘K-Novel Translation Market Decision Support Platform’ by Poksock Translation.
The keynote speech was delivered by Professor Lee Kyo-goo of Seoul National University’s Department of Intelligent Information. He discussed the evolution of AI voice technology, technical innovations, ethical considerations, and future creative possibilities. This was followed by expert discussions centered around six topics across three fields: law and policy, sports and tourism, and arts and content.
In the law and policy field, the usage of cultural data and policy directions, and the harmony between open-source AI technology and copyright systems were discussed. In the sports and tourism field, digital-based innovation examples were presented, such as using sports technology for public health management and performance enhancement, AI travel assistants, and real-time translation services. In the arts and content field, changes in creative methods and collaboration with AI, and usage cases in the broadcasting and music industries were introduced.
The experience hall accompanying the forum offered digital experiences such as digital rock climbing, indoor cycling, and AI fragrance creation, alongside exhibitions of competition-winning works, open-source content, and public works. Notable exhibits included Creative Must’s ‘Proto Hologram’ and Claudio’s ‘Virtual Traditional Instrument – Joseon Series.’
