The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is recruiting young trainees for national art organizations.

600 Candidates Selected, 250 More Than Last Year “The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 3rd that it would recruit and train young educational members in partnership with seven national art organizations, the National Gugak Center, and the National Theater.”

This initiative aims to provide public stage experience to young artists who find it hard to gain practical experience, while also discovering the next generation of K-culture leaders. This year, considering the high interest, 600 candidates will be selected, which is 250 more than last year’s 350. Excluding the fifty-five candidates recruited separately (45 from the National Opera Company and 10 from the National Theater), the recruitment period will be from the 6th to the 24th for 545 candidates.

The recruitment is divided into four categories: Classical Music (45 from the National Opera Company, 50 from the National Choir, 90 from the National Symphony Orchestra), Dance (30 from the National Ballet Company, 30 from the National Contemporary Dance Company), Theater and Musical (80 from the National Theater Company), and Traditional Arts (60 from the National Gugak Center, 60 from local Gugak Centers, 80 from the National Theater, and 20 from the National Jeongdong Theater).

Eligible candidates are young artists aged between 19 and 34 who have graduated or are expected to graduate from a related field of study. Those with related experience are also encouraged to apply.

Once selected as educational members, they will be affiliated with these organizations and given opportunities to perform on public stages, along with a support stipend. Yoo In-chon, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, expressed, “We will build a solid foundation for supporting young artists in collaboration with national art organizations.”
