The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced today (6th) that Minister Yoo In-chon has appointed six new non-executive members to the Korean Film Council.
The newly appointed members include Kang Nae-young, the chairman of the Busan Film and Video Policy Committee and a professor of theater and film at Kyungsung University; Gil Jong-chul, a professor of theater and film at Hanyang University; Kim Jung-ki, a director at Sinjung Accounting Corporation; film director Lee Jeong-hyang; Lee Hyun-song, CEO of SmartStudy Ventures; and Cho Hye-jung, a professor at the Graduate School of Arts at Chung-Ang University.
This appointment is due to the expiration of the terms of the previous six members, and the new members will serve until January 2028 for a term of three years.
A representative from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism explained, “The appointments were made after considering various elements such as expertise and insight in the film industry, academic and on-field experience, and recommendations from film-related organizations.”
