On Wednesday, the 23rd, which marks “Sanggang” or the first frost according to the traditional calendar, the rain across the country will stop, and temperatures will drop significantly. Rain is currently falling in most regions, but it is expected to stop by early morning in most areas. In the central regions and Gyeongbuk, rain will continue through the morning before easing. The expected rainfall until that day is 5-30mm in the Seoul Metropolitan area and Chungcheong, 5-40mm in Gangwon and Gyeongsang, 5-20mm in Jeolla, and 5-10mm in Jeju.
Morning temperatures are expected to be around 8-16 degrees Celsius, which is about 4 degrees lower than the previous day: 11 degrees in Seoul, 12 degrees in Daejeon, 13 degrees in Jeonju, and 14 degrees in Daegu. During the day, temperatures will remain chilly, with Seoul at 16 degrees, Daejeon at 17 degrees, and Sokcho at 18 degrees. Especially from the early morning, strong winds exceeding 20 meters per second are expected in Gangwon, Gyeongbuk, and Jeju, and 15-20 meters per second in most other regions, which will make it feel even colder.
In Gwangju and Jeonnam, morning temperatures will range from 12-15 degrees, and daytime temperatures will range from 18-20 degrees. The fine dust concentration is expected to be at a “good” level in all areas due to the smooth dispersion of air.
