Today (the 1st), it will rain in Jeju and the southern regions of Korea. The typhoon Kong-rey that landed in Taiwan is expected to weaken into an extratropical cyclone by tomorrow morning, but it will push a large amount of moisture towards Jeju, causing strong rain and wind.
Currently, it has started raining in the southern regions except for parts of Gyeongbuk’s inland, and by tomorrow, more than 300mm of rain is expected in the mountainous areas of Jeju, and over 100mm is expected along the southern coast of Jeolla Province. Other southern inland areas are expected to receive about 50 to 60mm of rain.
Meanwhile, the Seoul metropolitan area and inland Gangwon are expected to remain mostly clear. However, strong winds will blow in Jeju and the southern coast.
Currently, the temperature in Seoul is 13 degrees, which is not particularly chilly, but daytime temperatures are expected to be 2 to 7 degrees lower than yesterday, reaching only 16 degrees in Daegu.
