[Seoul=Newsis] Starting with the performance ‘Korea On Stage’ on the 21st, the National Heritage Administration will launch the ‘2024 National Heritage Visit Campaign’.
The cultural heritage visit campaign is a project that has been underway since 2020 by the National Heritage Administration to rediscover the value of South Korea’s national heritage, which is internationally recognized, and to promote its beauty domestically and internationally.
This year, with the transition of the national heritage system, the name will change to ‘National Heritage Visit Campaign’. They will introduce programs that expand the opportunities to experience national heritage and utilize various national heritage sites.
Actress Jo Bo-ah will be the promotional ambassador for this year’s campaign. The appointment ceremony will start on the 21st at 7 p.m. at Hyungnye Gate, Gyeongbokgung Palace. She will appear in a video introducing the Changdeokgung Palace, one of the national heritage visit courses.
The second group of ‘Visit Campaign Supporters’ will also start their activities. The selected ‘Bangcams’ are a group of 30 people who will introduce various programs and events of the visit campaign. They will promote the campaign through the national heritage visit courses and visitor passport tours.
As part of the ‘National Heritage Visit Campaign’, performances will be held. ‘Korea On Stage’ is a performance intended to promote the excellence and beauty of South Korea’s national heritage by showcasing the country’s top artists. Previous performances have taken place at various locations since 2020.
“The performance this year will be held at 7:30 p.m. on the 21st at Hyungnye Gate square in Gyeongbokgung Palace, with Danyi of the popular idol group ‘NewJins’ leading the event.” NewJins, Song Gain, fromis_9, Deep and Double, All Our Awards, ATBO, Choi Yuri, Jang Min-ho, Hyolyn, and the teams from the musicals ‘Hero’ and ‘Empress Myeongseong’ will be performing.
The performance will be broadcasted on KBS 2TV at 11:25 p.m. the same day and will simultaneously air in 142 countries worldwide via KBS World.
In June, the program ‘Finding Myself in Sansa’ will take place at Yangsan Tongdosa Temple. In October, a special program for foreigners to enjoy a morning walk in Changdeokgung Palace, the representative of the ‘Royal Heritage Path,’ will be arranged.
To promote visits to national heritage sites located throughout the country, travel companies are being invited to submit tourism products utilizing national heritage sites.
Through this competition, up to nine tourism products focusing on experiences only available in national heritage sites will be selected, and operational costs will be supported.
Collaborative programs for convenient visits to national heritage sites will also be expanded. Programs such as the ‘Gwandong Locomotive’, operated in collaboration with Korail, allowed visitors to explore Gangneung National Heritage through the ‘Santa Train’.
Also, in programs utilizing ‘Gwandong Locomotive Path’ and ‘Sansa Path’ in collaboration with Kumho Express, dedicated shuttle buses will be arranged.
The visitor passport tour for national heritage sites has been revamped. The redesigned passport vividly depicts the traditional beauty of South Korea and the 10 representative national heritage sites on the visit courses, containing the latest information on the national heritage sites included.
The redesigned passports can be obtained at the National Heritage Visit Campaign Promotion Hall in Incheon International Airport and can also be applied for on the National Heritage Visit Campaign website.
Especially, limited edition passports featuring Hong Won-pyo’s character ‘Barabappa’ will be distributed to the first 2000 applicants at the campaign promotion hall. This year, visitors who collect stamps for each national heritage travel course through the visitor passport tour will receive souvenirs such as mini tumblers and ‘mini bags.’
