[Herald Economy = Yang Dae-geun] Mercedes-Benz Korea announced on the 6th that it will strengthen its SUV portfolio by launching four new trims with diversified design and powertrain for its representative SUV lineup: ‘GLC’, ‘GLC Coupe’, ‘GLE Coupe’, and ‘GLS’.
The newly added 2025 SUV models consist of a total of four types, with prices set at ▲ GLC 300 4MATIC Avantgarde 78.8 million won ▲ GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe Avantgarde 82.8 million won ▲ GLE 450 4MATIC Coupe 137.6 million won ▲ GLS 450 4MATIC 153.6 million won. All prices include VAT and reflect the individual consumption tax reduction. The GLE 450 4MATIC Coupe will be delivered starting this month, and the other three models were released last month.
With this expansion, the number of trim options available in the mid-size and large SUV segments including GLC and GLC Coupe, GLE Coupe, and GLS have increased from 6 to 10, allowing customers to choose more detailed models according to their preferences in design and powertrain.
Firstly, in the mid-size SUV segment, the ‘Avantgarde’ design has been added to the previously ‘AMG Line’ only GLC 300 4MATIC and GLC 300 4MATIC Coupe, providing two design options.
In the upper mid-size SUV segment, a gasoline model, the GLE 450 4MATIC Coupe, has been added to the existing diesel model, diversifying powertrain options.
In the large SUV segment, the newly added gasoline model GLS 450 4MATIC joins the existing diesel and upper gas models, offering a total of three models.
These models all come equipped with advanced safety and convenience features highly preferred in the domestic market. They all feature a 48V mild hybrid system that aids extra output and provides strong engine performance with swifter and smoother engine starts. Additionally, all four models have received certification as low-emission vehicles category 2.
Furthermore, the latest driving assistance system, Driving Assistance Plus, and Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, where the LED in the headlamp is individually controlled to adjust the range and shape of the lamp according to traffic conditions, are standard. Other various features favored by domestic customers include the LTE/5G ‘Mercedes me connect’ service communication module included MBUX infotainment system, MBUX augmented reality navigation, navigationally linked Hi-Pass toll payment system, front seat ventilation and heating, heated steering wheel, ambient light, panoramic sunroof, and Burmester® surround sound system.
