K-pop group BLACKPINK’s Rosé has achieved another milestone, winning an award at one of the four major American award ceremonies with her song “On The Ground.”

The group BLACKPINK’s Rosé raised a trophy at the American music awards, “MTV VMA,” with the hit song “Apartment” (APT.).

On the 7th (local time), at the “2025 MTV Video Music Awards” held at UBS Arena in New York, USA, Rosé won the major award “Song of the Year” for the duet “Apartment” (APT.) with pop star Bruno Mars.

It’s the first time a K-pop artist has received an award in this category.

Rosé, who took the stage wearing a gold dress, began by saying, “I can’t believe it,” and added, “I’m especially grateful to Bruno (Mars), who believed in and helped me.”

She further mentioned, “I’m happy to receive this award as it rewards our efforts.”

While expressing her feelings, Rosé also mentioned producer Teddy and her BLACKPINK members in Korean.

She smiled and said, “Teddy oppa, I won an award. BLACKPINK members, I won an award. I’m always thankful and love you all.”

This year, Rosé is nominated in eight categories at the VMA and is aiming for multiple wins, including the major award, “Video of the Year,” as well as “Best Pop.”

The “Best K-Pop” category, for which Rosé was nominated, went to her BLACKPINK colleague Lisa. Lisa received the “Best K-Pop” award for her collaboration “Born Again” with pop stars Doja Cat and Rey.

Lisa won the “Best K-Pop” trophy for the second consecutive year and the third time in total.
