Hyundai Motor Company experienced a slight decline in the U.S. market last month compared to the previous year.
Hyundai Motor America announced that their November sales reached 74,289 units, marking a 2% decrease from November last year. However, they explained that hybrid car sales surged by 42%, achieving the highest monthly record.
The cumulative sales from January to November this year totaled 822,756 units, representing an 8% increase compared to the same period last year.
Kia Motors America reported selling 72,000 units in November, which is a 3% increase from the same month last year and the highest record for that month.
By model, Hyundai reported that Tucson, Santa Fe, Palisade, Sonata HEV, Elantra HEV, and Elantra N achieved the highest sales for November. Hyundai also mentioned that this year’s cumulative sales are at an all-time high, with retail sales expected to hit annual records for the fifth consecutive year.
For Kia, the Carnival MPV set a record for the highest monthly sales, while Sportage and Seltos achieved all-time high sales for November.
The accumulated sales this year for Kia’s K5, Carnival, Sportage, Telluride, and Sorento showed a significant growth compared to last year, according to the company.
Eric Watson, Vice President of Sales Operations at Kia Motors America, stated, “Kia is on the verge of breaking sales records for the third consecutive year.” He added, “The interest and expectations for the ‘All-New Telluride’ unveiled at the recent LA Auto Show extend beyond existing customers to new customer segments, providing positive momentum that will carry into next year.”
