‘(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Jaeyoung = Overnight, central regions will experience continued heavy rain.’

‘On the 13th, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that from the morning of the 14th until dawn, there could be times when rain falls at a rate of 30-70mm per hour in the Seoul metropolitan area and the West Sea 5 islands, and about 30mm per hour in the morning of the 14th.’

‘Inland areas in the central and northern parts of Gangwon are expected to experience about 30-50mm of rain per hour from the night of the 13th until the early morning of the 14th, followed by continued heavy rain of about 30mm per hour in the morning of the 14th.’

‘In the southern inland areas of Gangwon, there will be heavy rain of about 30mm per hour from the night of the 13th until the morning of the 14th.’

‘In the northern part of Chungcheong, there will be rain of about 30mm per hour from late night on the 13th until the morning of the 14th.’

‘On this day, the stagnant front formed by the collision of warm, humid air from the south and dry air descending from the north, along with mid-scale low pressure developed in the areas where these different air masses meet with force, will bring heavy rain, particularly affecting areas such as Incheon and northern Gyeonggi Province in the metropolitan area.’

‘With dry air being strongly introduced behind the low pressure that moves to the East Sea, the stagnant front is expected to be reactivated, leading to continued heavy rain overnight.’

‘The rain in the central region is expected to ease by the afternoon of the 14th.’

‘Rain bands east to west are long and narrow north to south, resulting in significant variability in rainfall amounts even among areas just tens of kilometers apart. Continuous checking of the latest weather information and radar images is needed for preparedness.’

‘In Incheon, strong winds with wind speeds at or above 70 km/h (20 m/s) are expected until early morning on the 14th, and strong winds will also affect the West Coast and central inland areas until the 14th.’

‘Precautions should be taken to prevent damage from strong winds.’

‘In the southern regions, intermittent rain will also continue until the night of the 13th.’

‘The expected rainfall is 5-40mm.’

‘On the 14th, temperatures are expected to range from a morning low of 22-26 degrees to a daytime high of 28-34 degrees.’

‘While areas such as northern Gyeonggi Province and the northern parts of the central region are experiencing heavy rains, regions south of Chungcheong are suffering from heatwaves. Southern Chungcheong, southern regions, and Jeju, under heatwave warnings, will continue to experience daytime temperatures feeling like around 33 degrees.’
