Genesis unveiled the X Gran Coupe and X Gran Convertible concepts to the world for the first time at the ‘2025 Seoul Mobility Show’ and announced the domestic debut of the ‘GMR-001 Hypercar’ design on the 3rd of the month. At this show, held in Goyang, Gyeonggi from today until the 13th, Genesis has set up a 1,200㎡ (approximately 363 pyeong) exhibition space to celebrate its 10th anniversary, showcasing two concept models. Additionally, they are displaying a 1:2 scale model of the GMR-001 Hypercar, the GV60 Magma Concept, the partially updated GV60, the GV80 Coupe Black, the electrified GV70 facelift model, the G90, and a total of nine vehicles.
Genesis Business Division Head, Vice President Song Min-gyu stated, “Over the past ten years, Genesis has shared the unique sensibility and value of the brand with over 1.3 million customers worldwide. We plan to use this Seoul Mobility Show as a new starting point to introduce various models that embody the high-performance technology and future luxury design direction that Genesis pursues.”
The X Gran Coupe and X Gran Convertible are 2-door concept models that epitomize luxury, based on the flagship sedan G90. They feature the flagship presence and sculptural beauty through the reinterpretation of the brand’s design philosophy of ‘Athletic Elegance’, including a newly interpreted front two-line graphic, a low cabin and roofline, and a smooth silhouette with the B pillar removed.
Director of the Genesis Design Center, Yoon Il-hun, remarked, “Through these two models, we wanted to showcase a new form of flagship tailored to the diverse tastes and lifestyles of our customers. Despite originating from different inspirations, both the X Gran Coupe and X Gran Convertible clearly exhibit Genesis’ identity.”
Genesis also unveiled the GMR-001 Hypercar design and announced their entry into endurance racing. The GMR-001 Hypercar is a model that demonstrates Genesis’ limitless potential in the motorsport field and future direction for high-performance luxury through the combination of high-performance technology and aesthetic identity.
Inspired by the Genesis Magma Program, the GMR-001 Hypercar emphasizes agile vehicle performance with its unique black color finish and meticulously crafted design. Genesis plans to enter the ‘World Endurance Championship’ with two vehicles from next year and add two more vehicles to the ‘WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’ in 2027.
Hyundai Motorsport Corporation Head and Genesis Magma Racing General Director, Cyril Abiteboul, commented, “Endurance racing is a platform that demands resilience and flawless execution, deeply connected to the values Genesis pursues. The GMR-001 will be a significant starting point for Genesis to showcase its potential and identity as a high-performance brand.”
