Busan to Host ‘2025 Busan International Children’s Book Fair’

[Herald Economy (Busan) = Lee Joo-hyun] The city of Busan announced on the 9th that it will host the ‘2025 Busan International Children’s Book Fair’ from the 11th to the 14th at BEXCO’s first exhibition hall.

Following a successful inaugural event last year, this is the second iteration of the ‘Busan International Children’s Book Fair.’ It is set to feature over 160 children’s book publishers and organizations from 24 countries, including South Korea, and more than 140 renowned authors from around the world, creating a global children’s cultural festival. Last year’s event saw participation from 193 entities from 16 countries, attracting about 50,000 visitors and over 110,000 online visits.

This year’s event will include a rich array of experiences such as exhibits of over 400 books and a special exhibition of picture book originals, meetings with both domestic and international authors (lectures, etc.), publishing and intellectual property (IP) markets, as well as various interactive programs, offering children opportunities to unleash their imagination and dreams in the sea of books.

The exhibition will showcase over 400 books related to this year’s theme, , along with 10 books that won the ‘Most Enjoyable Book in Korea’ award, and over 60 original illustrations from picture books themed around the sea. In addition, numerous renowned authors from home and abroad will participate, providing visitors with in-depth opportunities for interaction.
