“A ticket for 8.88 million won” concert tickets halted… “Sorry for the confusion”

In October, the music festival ‘Madly Medley’ will feature major lineups. In the midst of controversy over a ticket priced at 8,880,000 KRW for a domestic artist festival, the organizers have halted sales of the ticket.

The organizer, Culturethink, stated on their official social media on the 15th, “We deeply empathize with the concerns and criticisms regarding the 1% ticket, and we sincerely apologize for the confusion and inconvenience caused by inadequate guidance and lack of meticulous preparation.”

Previously, tickets for the ‘Madly Medley’ festival, scheduled to be held on October 18th and 19th at Incheon Paradise City, went on sale. The controversy arose because the 1% ticket, which included benefits such as an afterparty, exclusive entry and exit gates, and viewing on the main stage, was sold for a staggering 8,880,000 KRW.

Culturethink explained that the 8,880,000 KRW ticket was intended to offer a new audience experience as a premium ticket, incorporating benefits and services from many overseas festivals into the domestic market.

However, they apologized, stating “We didn’t provide sufficient specific information and benefits corresponding to the ticket price, leading to misunderstandings.” They announced that all sales of the 1% ticket have been halted across all booking platforms, and full refunds will be provided individually to existing purchasers.

They added, “We sincerely apologize once more for the disappointment caused by this incident, and we will deeply reflect and improve to establish a healthier and more trustworthy festival culture.”

Meanwhile, ‘Madly Medley’ is slated to feature artists such as Kim Chang-wan Band, Kim Kwang-jin, E Sens, Sik-K, QWER, All Day Project, and C Jamm.
