A large temperature difference of ‘over 10 degrees’ again today… Masks are essential

The highest daytime temperature is expected to be around 12 degrees Celsius today. The skies across the country will be clear in the morning, becoming cloudy in the afternoon. Fine dust levels will be ‘poor’ in areas like Chungnam, Gwangju, and Jeonbuk, while the levels in the capital and Chungbuk regions might worsen at times.

According to reports, temperatures in the inland areas will rise, resulting in a temperature difference of over 10 degrees between day and night. Temperatures will be similar to the average (lowest -4 to 4 degrees, highest 8 to 12 degrees), with the highest daytime temperatures ranging between 7 and 12 degrees.

Major cities will experience the following highest temperatures: Seoul 10°C, Incheon 8°C, Suwon 10°C, Chuncheon 10°C, Gangneung 7°C, Cheongju 11°C, Daejeon 12°C, Jeonju 12°C, Gwangju 12°C, Daegu 11°C, Busan 11°C, and Jeju 12°C.

A high-pressure system moving from northern China to the northern East Sea will bring generally clear weather nationwide, but more clouds will appear in the afternoon. Late in the afternoon, Jeju may experience rain or snow.

Expected snowfall in the mountainous areas of Jeju is 1-5 cm, with precipitation expected to be around 5-10 mm in Jeju, about 5 mm in Gwangju and Jeonnam, less than 5 mm in Jeonbuk, Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, and the southern parts of Daegu and Gyeongbuk, and around 1 mm in the southern inland areas of Daejeon, Chungnam, southern Chungbuk, Ulleungdo, and Dokdo.

There will be many icy roads and black ice conditions, particularly in Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, and northern Gyeongbuk. Visibility will be reduced, and roads will be slippery in areas with precipitation, so traffic safety should be a priority.

Strong winds with speeds of 8 to 16 m/s and high waves between 1.5 to 4 meters are expected in the southern and southwestern seas off Jeju early in the morning.

The previously introduced fine dust and locally generated fine dust are accumulating due to stagnant air, causing higher levels in the western regions. Fine dust levels will be ‘poor’ in Chungnam, Gwangju, and Jeonbuk, while other regions are expected to be ‘good’ to ‘average’. However, the capital region, Daejeon, Sejong, and Chungbuk are likely to experience ‘poor’ levels in the morning and night.
