In the TV CHOSUN show “Dad and Me,” airing tonight (17th) at 10 PM, Lee Geon-joo, known as ‘Sundol,’ shares the complicated family history that led to his brother Lee Geon-cheol being adopted to France right after birth. Thanks to his ‘French’ brother’s efforts, Lee Geon-joo had a chance to meet him once 18 years ago. However, due to language and cultural differences, misunderstandings arose, and afterward, they lost contact.
Reuniting with his brother after a long time, Lee Geon-joo recounted, “At that time, I wasn’t in a comfortable situation. I felt very sorry about not being able to do anything for him, so I pushed him away. I wanted to be a cool and proud brother to him.” He also apologized, saying, “I won’t avoid or run away just because it’s hard,” to which his brother Lee Geon-cheol responded, “I don’t resent you,” comforting him instead.
