[OSEN=Kang Seo-jung Reporter] After ‘Dogs are great’ was ultimately abolished due to the aftermath of Kang Hyeong-wook’s bullying controversy, the production team decided to renew it and introduced ‘Animals are great’. However, Lee Kyung-kyu and Park Se-ri were not able to join the renewed program, and Eun Ji-won, Seo Jang-hoon, and Jang Do-yeon were selected as the new MCs.

‘Animals are great’, the renewed KBS 2TV entertainment program, revealed a teaser video through its official SNS on the 16th, announcing a fresh start.

‘Animals are great’ aims to lead pet culture through emotion, fun, everyday legal common sense, and improve the public’s perception. The production team expects to exert positive influence on various issues related to pets while contemplating together.

Lee Kyung-kyu and Park Se-ri will not be part of the renewed ‘Animals are great’. This is due to the cancellation of ‘Dogs are great’, and the decision of the production team to lead with new individuals and programs.

‘Animals are great’ stated, “Veteran pet owner Seo Jang-hoon, who is witty and piercing in perspective, will lead the program along with Eun Ji-won, who will show great chemistry with the MCs as ‘pro empathizer’, and Jang Do-yeon, the hottest next-generation representative MC. The three MCs will lead the program with unique chemistry, adding to the fun of watching.”

Additionally, pet behavior specialist Go Ji-an, animal case expert lawyer Cho Chan-hyung, and cat specialist veterinarian Kim Myung-chul will join the MCs.

‘Dogs are great’ started airing in November 2019 to foster a mature pet culture reflecting how dogs and people can live together happily. Kang Hyeong-wook, a dog trainer, led the program with Lee Kyung-kyu and Park Se-ri.

However, in May, Kang Hyeong-wook was embroiled in allegations of bullying and harassment within the workplace. Former employees of Kang’s company raised allegations including CCTV surveillance suspicions against Kang, unauthorized messenger monitoring, neglect of the dog Leo, unpaid wages, disparaging remarks about the guardians, conducting a new member promotion after deciding to close the business, and verbal abuse.

In response, Kang Hyeong-wook and his wife created a clarification video refuting the allegations, but former employees continued to rebut one after another, leading to a public dispute. Two former employees even filed a criminal complaint against Kang Hyeong-wook and his wife for violation of the Information and Communication Network Act with the Namyangju Nambug Police Station. Eventually, amidst the legal battle over the allegations, ‘Dogs are great’ resumed broadcasting without Kang Hyeong-wook, then decided to abolish and renew the program after a special feature on A/S.

With the sudden abolition and renewal, Lee Kyung-kyu and Park Se-ri, who were actively participating, faced unexpected changes. The program they were doing well on disappeared. As a result, there is disappointment among fans who expected Lee Kyung-kyu and Park Se-ri to continue in the renewed program, but new individuals were selected as MCs, making it impossible to see them in action together. /[email protected]
