Actor Lee Yi-kyung is involved in a controversy as a whistleblower, referred to as Mr. A, continues to release additional evidence regarding rumors about Lee’s personal life. On October 21, Mr. A posted on his blog, saying, “Everyone asked to see it, so here is the screen video. It’s the real account”, releasing a video. The video purportedly shows message exchanges from Lee Yi-kyung’s official Instagram account.
Previously, on October 20, Mr. A shared a post titled “Revealing the true side of Lee Yi-kyung,” which included screenshots of conversations on KakaoTalk and Instagram DMs, allegedly with Lee Yi-kyung. The messages reportedly contained requests for intimate photos, profanity, sexual harassment, and inappropriate remarks, shocking many people.
Mr. A further explained, “There have been claims that I asked for money, but this is the first time I’m hearing of it.” He admitted to asking once if Lee could provide money due to financial issues and not being able to ask his parents. He emphasized that he didn’t post the messages to extort money but to prevent other women from going through similar experiences.
Identifying himself as a German who has been self-studying Korean for eight years without formal lessons, Mr. A denied being a scammer and expressed surprise at how the situation escalated.
Lee’s agency, SANGYOUNG ENT, has hinted at legal action, stating that they have been receiving threatening emails from Mr. A for the past five months. The agency told Star News, “About five months ago, Mr. A sent emails with similar content to the blog posts. After being told legal action would be taken, the distributor apologized, saying it was false information. We sorted it out internally, but the false rumor has surfaced again. We have no choice but to pursue legal actions.”
Meanwhile, Lee Yi-kyung is currently appearing on the MBC variety show “How Do You Play?” and has been selected as a new MC for KBS 2TV’s “The Return of Superman,” which will premiere on November 12.
