MBC announcer Lee Hwi-jun has been selected as the new host of ‘Today N’, taking over from former anchor Kim Dae-ho, becoming a rising star for MBC. According to an OSEN report, Lee will begin his role as the male host of MBC’s ‘Today N’ from March 3rd, alongside new co-host Park So-young. Current hosts Park Ji-min and Jung Young-han will bid farewell to viewers on the show today (February 28th).
‘Today N’ is a sister program to MBC’s flagship morning show ‘Live Today Morning’, offering lively segments on various topics like information, lifestyle tips, culture, and social issues. Lee Hwi-jun’s appointment as the new MC also includes taking on the fixed segment ‘After Work N’.
The program ‘Today N’ and the segment ‘After Work N’ were previously led by Kim Dae-ho, who had a long-standing role as the male MC and has recently transitioned to freelancing, leaving his mark as “MBC’s son.” Lee Hwi-jun is poised to take the baton from Kim.
Joining MBC’s announcer department in 2017, Lee Hwi-jun has built a reputation for reliability with roles in ‘News Today’, ‘Investigative Planning Straight’, and appearances on entertainment programs like ‘King of Mask Singer’ and ‘Hangout with Yoo?’. He has also been active on the MBC announcer’s YouTube channel, and garnered attention last year for marrying former MBC journalist Kim Ah-young, making them an in-house couple.
‘Today N’ airs every Monday to Friday at 6:05 PM.
