According to an OSEN report on the 12th, Suzy is currently considering a lead role in the drama adaptation of “Men of the Harem.” The story, originally a Naver web novel by the author Alphatart, is a court romance fantasy centered on the female emperor Latil of the Tarrium Empire who brings in male concubines to maintain her throne.
The web novel, which was serialized from March 2020 to June 2023, has exceeded 21.4 million cumulative downloads and has been turned into a webtoon, gaining significant popularity both domestically and internationally. There has been a lot of fan interest in a live-action adaptation.
In the meantime, the news that actress Suzy is reviewing the lead role of “Latil” in “Men of the Harem” has generated excitement. The production is being handled by Studio Dragon, with director Lee Eung-bok, known for works like “Sweet Home 2,” “Sweet Home 3,” “Mr. Sunshine,” and “Goblin,” taking the helm. Additionally, writer Hwang Jin-young, who penned MBC’s hit drama “Lovers” in 2023, will add depth to the series.
