Song Joong-ki, Still the King of Romantic Comedies Even After Marriage… Joins New Project ‘Love Cloud’ Just Two Months Later (Summary)

Actor Song Joong-ki will star in the upcoming romantic-comedy, tentatively titled ‘Love Cloud.’ According to OSEN’s investigation, Song Joong-ki recently received an offer to join the new drama ‘Love Cloud’ and has decided to participate following positive consideration.

After becoming a father, Song Joong-ki showcased his rom-com prowess through JTBC’s ‘My Youth.’ Just two months after its conclusion, he quickly confirmed his next project, indicating continuous activity.

The new project, ‘Love Cloud,’ is a romantic-comedy set in the enchanting Jeju Island, where former flight instructor Kang Woo-joo reunites with Ahn Ha-nui, a former aspiring pilot, as an air traffic controller and pilot, respectively, seven years later. The storyline unfolds their relationship as love meets weather influences. Directed by Song Min-yeop of KBS2’s ‘Youth of May’ (2021) and drama ‘High Cookie’ (2023), it is penned by new writer team Mad Rabbit.

Song Joong-ki will portray the male lead Kang Woo-joo, who shifts from a former flight instructor to a current air traffic controller. Despite ‘Love Cloud’ being in a similar rom-com genre to his recent work ‘My Youth,’ the ambiance and characters are reportedly entirely different. There’s anticipation for how Song Joong-ki will handle the role of a flight instructor and controller, a first in his career.

‘Love Cloud’ aims to start filming early next year and is in the process of casting the female lead along with supporting characters while discussing channel placements.

Song Joong-ki debuted with the movie ‘A Frozen Flower’ in 2008. He has played significant roles in dramas like ‘Sungkyunkwan Scandal,’ ‘Deep Rooted Tree,’ ‘The Innocent Man,’ ‘Descendants of the Sun,’ ‘Arthdal Chronicles,’ ‘Vincenzo,’ ‘Reborn Rich,’ and ‘My Youth.’ His filmography includes titles such as ‘A Werewolf Boy,’ ‘The Battleship Island,’ ‘Space Sweepers,’ ‘Hwaran,’ ‘Ro Ki-wan,’ and ‘Bogota: City of the Lost.’ This year, he also held fan meetings in both Korea and Japan, maintaining his global popularity.
