[Exclusive] ‘Shin Ji♥’ Moonwon’s Alumni: “School Violence and Cheating Allegations All False, Victim of Witch Hunt” (Comprehensive)
[Sports Chosun Reporter Baek Ji-eun] “Moonwon is a victim of a witch hunt.”
On the 2nd, Moonwon confessed about his past. He admitted to having been divorced and having a daughter with his ex-wife, which sparked heated debates among netizens. Several allegations arose about Moonwon, including accusations of school violence, cheating, a marriage due to premarital pregnancy, and military service violence. A netizen claiming to be an acquaintance of the ex-wife insisted, “Check the divorce case records. You’ll be shocked.”
Moonwon refuted the claims, stating, “The allegations of me bullying friends or juniors during school and military service are completely untrue. If necessary, I am willing to obtain and disclose objective evidence to prove this. It is true I married due to premarital pregnancy, but the claim of cheating is false.”
Sports Chosun investigated Moonwon’s past and concluded that his statements were true. All online allegations were false.
Regarding relationship issues, A, who claims to be Moonwon’s elementary and middle school classmate and also knows his ex-wife, spoke out. A said, “I’ve never heard about Moonwon cheating. He’s sociable and friendly to all, but he tends to have long, serious relationships once he starts dating someone. The couple separated due to personality differences, but Moonwon is greatly heartbroken about his child and is fulfilling his responsibilities. It feels unfair that he is being subjected to a witch hunt.”
Concerning the school violence issue, Moonwon’s high school classmates strongly denied the allegations. B stated decisively, “As far as I know, those making the claims are not Moonwon’s high school classmates.” They added, “Moonwon is not the kind of person who would hit anyone. He was kind, bright, and often played the role of mediator rather than instigator. He was reliable and kind, not someone with a bad reputation.”
Regarding military violence accusations, C, a junior in his unit, stepped forward. C explained, “We were in a small group in the guard company. We mostly knew each other since the number was sometimes as low as 70, never exceeding 100. Moonwon was nine months my senior. I have no memory of him being violent. You can tell by talking to someone. He doesn’t seem like the type to hit others. As a junior, if it had happened, I would have said something. He was not a bad person. Working shifts 2-in-1 with him was great. We chatted and had a comfortable time. He made sure we could rest appropriately while on duty. He was memorable for his daily exercise and singing.”
Moonwon is planning to marry Shin Ji early next year.
