Reporter Moon Ji-yeon from Sports Chosun writes that newcomer Lee Chae-min will join Im Yoon-ah in the new tvN drama ‘The Tyrant’s Chef’ (written by Hap Jak, directed by Jang Tae-yoo). According to an entertainment industry insider, Lee Chae-min has been offered the lead role in the fantasy survival romance that travels 500 years in time, featuring a French chef who meets a tyrannical ruler and ultimate gourmet.
‘The Tyrant’s Chef’ recently underwent internal changes following Park Sung-hoon’s departure due to backlash over a controversial social media post. Both the production team and Park Sung-hoon concluded after extensive discussions that it was best to part ways. The show’s filming schedule is pressing, with Lee Chae-min now confirmed as the new lead, replacing Park Sung-hoon.
Lee Chae-min, who has been gaining popularity with roles in recent dramas like ‘Ilta Scandal’ and Netflix’s ‘Hierarchy’, as well as MBC’s ‘Bunny and Brothers’, is expected to bring a fresh dynamic alongside Im Yoon-ah. Fans are curious about the chemistry between them.
