Singer Psy has apologized for being investigated by the police for allegedly receiving sleeping pills through a proxy, a violation of medical law, calling it a “clear mistake and oversight.”
On the 28th, his agency, P Nation, stated, “It is a clear mistake and oversight to have the prescription sleeping pills collected by someone else. We are sorry.”
They further explained, “Psy has been diagnosed with chronic sleep disorders and has been taking sleeping pills as prescribed by medical professionals. The medication he has taken was prescribed under medical guidance without any proxy prescriptions. However, there was an instance where the sleeping pills were collected by someone else on his behalf, and a police investigation is currently underway regarding this matter.”
Finally, they expressed their apologies once again, saying, “We are sorry for causing concern.”
Previously, it was revealed that Psy is under police investigation for allegedly receiving prescriptions of psychotropic drugs through a proxy. The Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul recently received a complaint requesting criminal action against Psy for violating medical laws, which requires a face-to-face consultation with a doctor to obtain a prescription for psychotropic drugs. The complaint reportedly includes allegations that Psy obtained the medication under another person’s name.
The police are investigating the specifics of the incident concerning Psy.
