“Prostitution Theft” Miss Korea contestant from the 23rd batch, presumed to be Jeong-suk, receives a prison sentence shockingly “commits another crime during probation period”

According to sports journalist Lee Yoona from Sports Chosun, a person believed to be the same as Jeong-sook from the 23rd season of “I am Solo” and a former Miss Korea contender named Park has reportedly been sentenced to imprisonment in connection with allegations of paid sex and special theft.

On the 6th, News Cabinet, operated by Maeil Newspaper, released a video titled “[Exclusive] ‘I am Solo’ Allegations: ‘9-Month Jail Sentence’ Verdict During Suspended Sentence Period.” In the video, lawyer Kang Dae-gyu discussed the claims made by Jeong-sook from the 23rd season. Jeong-sook claimed she would address accusations of special theft with legal assistance. However, Kang advised that the individual could simply request a certificate of non-prosecution to verify their innocence, rather than needing a lawyer.

The video further highlighted that Jeong-sook’s photos matched those from a 2011 SBS news report involving a woman named Park, who had been arrested for special theft. Allegedly a Korean Air flight attendant at the time, Park solicited compensated dating, stole 2 million won from a client while he was showering, and fled with her boyfriend.

Lawyer Kang confirmed obtaining the case number and verdict documents for the incident, stating that Park received a nine-month sentence from the Southern District Court, which was later reduced to eight months on appeal. It was mentioned that Park had a prior conviction for a similar crime in February 2011 in Busan, for which she had been given a six-month suspended sentence for stealing 1 million won.

Given Park’s continued offenses during the probationary period, she was directly incarcerated and received a sentence reflecting the combined penalties of the previous and new convictions, leading to a total of 14 months. Lawyer Kang stated that parole would be unlikely due to reoffending during the probation period.

The controversy also touched upon Jeong-sook’s participation in a beauty pageant in 2010 and the production team’s subsequent apology and edit of her scenes from “I am Solo” after allegations arose online. Jeong-sook denied all criminal involvement and claimed her passport had been used without permission, resulting in a fraud investigation ending in no charges.

Reportedly, the SBS program ‘Curious Story Y’ has been accepting information regarding Jeong-sook’s case, which is unusual, highlighting the potential severity or uniqueness of the allegations despite the air of the program on SBS Plus. Jeong-sook maintains her innocence, remains engaged in legal proceedings to clear her name, and has yet to disclose which media outlet she plans to approach for a rebuttal.
