On the 27th, the Daily Newspaper reported that a will expressing suffering from workplace bullying was found on Oh Yo-anna’s cellphone. The will specifically mentioned that she suffered harm from two particular weathercasters.
According to the report, the family revealed that although Oh Yo-anna took her own life, a written will consisting of 17 pages of manuscript paper was discovered on her phone. It stated that a fellow weathercaster who joined earlier than her placed the blame on her for a reporting error, and another weathercaster, though also a freelancer, would summon her back to the office after work hours under the pretext of having to mentor her, delaying her departure by an hour to an hour and a half.
Additionally, the deceased was criticized for questioning, “What can I say when I go out?” after receiving an appearance request from the tvN program ‘You Quiz on the Block’ in 2022. Numerous messages and audio recordings criticizing the deceased by fellow weathercasters were also found. It was revealed that Oh Yo-anna had informed MBC personnel of her situation before her death, but MBC reportedly took no significant action.
In May 2021, Oh Yo-anna was recruited as an MBC weathercaster, and in 2022, she appeared on ‘You Quiz on the Block,’ drawing public attention. She passed away last September at the age of 28.
