[OSEN=Reporter Park So-young] “Why are you acting up when an adult is speaking?”
,
Amid the controversy over the left and right comments by ‘King of Singers’ Na Hoon-a, junior singer Lee Seung-hwan made a determined statement about what it means to be a true ‘adult’.
,
On the 10th at the ‘2024 Thank You-Last Concert’ held at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Seoul, Na Hoon-a told his fans, “People say the left can’t do it like the right, but are they any better?” expressing his opinion.
,
He continued, “Where is the right, where is the left? Have you done well? I was told brothers should never fight for whatever reason. I want to ask if what you’re doing is truly for the country and the people. Impeach in the National Assembly, do whatever, but half should be talking about defense and economy,” raising his voice.
,
Na Hoon-a’s left and right comments were interpreted as referring to left and right-wing politics. In response, ‘left’ Democratic Party member Kim Won-i said, “Shut up and just go,” while Kim Young-rok, Governor of Jeonnam, argued, “It’s not a left-right issue.” As his comments became a hot topic, in his subsequent performance, Na Hoon-a reacted strongly, saying, “I will never forgive those (politicians) for saying anything.”
,
He emphasized, “National Assembly members or governors, listen well. Don’t divide people and just do your own work properly. Why are you acting up when an adult is speaking?” adding, “The small country is split in half. During elections, one side is red, the other blue,” emphasizing his beliefs.

,
Addressing this, cultural critic Kim Gap-su, who appeared on ‘Choe Wook’s Navy Show’ on the 13th, vehemently criticized, “Na Hoon-a is 78 years old. We should listen to him not as a celebrity but as the voice of an elder. Why do seniors like Na Hoon-a think that way? There is a perception that ‘does liberal democracy feed you?’ They see the current liberal democracy as cumbersome and extravagant. That’s a slave mentality.”
,
With these comments in mind, Lee Seung-hwan posted a meaningful message on SNS. Previously, Lee Seung-hwan had targeted former President Lee Myung-bak with a song in 2017 and had performed at an impeachment rally in front of the National Assembly following President Yoon Seok-yeol’s martial law declaration on December 3rd last year.
,
Recently, after a concert in Jinju, he posted on SNS, “How should we live, are there truly adults in our time, I paid my respects and gratitude at teacher Kim Jang-ha’s ‘Namsungdang Oriental Medicine Shop,’ who gave us great teachings and resonance,” mentioning Kim Jang-ha, who carried out numerous social and charitable activities throughout his life.
,
After posting the MBC Gyeongnam documentary poster ‘Adult Kim Jang-ha’, he added, “‘Elders’ and ‘adults’ should be distinguished. If you only lived a long time without insight or wisdom despite your lengthy years, you are an ‘elder’. ‘Adults’ are rare and precious. Here, we have a story of a real adult we would like to emulate. ‘Adult Kim Jang-ha.’ I hope you watch it,” drawing attention.
,
Meanwhile, as the impeachment situation that ensued due to President Yoon Seok-yeol’s martial law declaration persisted for over a month since December 3rd last year, celebrities have been actively making political statements. While some stars attend rallies or post protest photos supporting impeachment, others support President Yoon’s martial law and voice opposition to impeachment, showcasing a clear divide in positions.
