Actor Lee Yi-kyung (36) has spoken out against a recent rumor about his private life, labeling it “false information.” The controversy reignited when a netizen suspected of spreading the allegations resurfaced and posted a clarification. However, it was revealed that the person had previously made false accusations and attempted to extort money, casting doubt on the credibility of the claims.
On the 20th, a user identified as A on an online community posted an additional explanation, stating, “I once asked, ‘Can you give me money?’ due to personal circumstances, but I never actually received any money.” A further claimed that the latest post was not about money but about preventing other women from experiencing the same situation, adding that A is a German not fluent in Korean.
Earlier, A had posted on a portal blog under the title “Exposing the True Side of Lee Yi-kyung,” sharing screenshots of a sexual conversation allegedly with Lee Yi-kyung. Though the post was quickly deleted, parts of it spread rapidly across online communities and social media, causing a stir. While the original post has been removed, concern over further dissemination lingers as the screenshots continue to circulate.
What is noteworthy is that this was not the first such incident. According to Lee’s agency, the person had previously attempted to extort money using similar false information and had admitted to fabricating the story and sent a formal apology email. Despite this, the same accusations were brought up again online.
As a result, A’s credibility is largely questioned, with many online users doubting the truth of the claims. Some expressed skepticism about the person’s foreign identity, while others argued the agency should clearly present evidence given the seriousness of the matter.
