Actor Lee Jang-woo’s restaurant, known for serving sundae soup, has been embroiled in a controversy over unpaid food ingredient payments. Regarding this, Lee Jang-woo’s side explained, “We paid the amount to Company A, which had a contract with the livestock company. However, it’s Company A’s issue of non-payment.” They further mentioned that they are discussing follow-up measures.
On the 17th, Dispatch reported allegations that the sundae soup restaurant, known to have been operated by Lee Jang-woo, failed to pay for pig by-products, causing harm to livestock farms. According to the reports, the restaurant’s unpaid amount from November 2023 to May last year was 50 million won. Partial repayments were made, but additional unpaid amounts accumulated, reaching 64 million won by January this year.
However, the representative from the F&B company currently registered as the legal entity of the sundae soup restaurant told Ilgan Sports, “The contract with the livestock company was made by A Company, the previous corporate entity of the restaurant. We settled payments with Company A, but it’s a case of Company A not fulfilling its payment obligations.” Lee Jang-woo is listed as a director of this F&B company.
