Koo Hye-sun has once again proved her remarkable path by receiving a special award from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). Among the 19 teams recognized for excellence in KAIST’s newly announced cultural strategy ‘QAIST’, Koo Hye-sun has been selected as a special award recipient in the creative talent category.
Currently, Koo Hye-sun is pursuing a master’s degree at KAIST’s Graduate School of Future Strategy. KAIST selected outstanding performers based on the ‘QAIST’ system—creative talent, research, internationalization, technology value creation, trust, and communication—which they presented as core values of their campus innovation strategy.
Koo Hye-sun, recognized in the creative talent category, launched the ‘Curlrol’, a flat-type hair roller designed to improve the inconvenience of traditional hair rollers, last month. The project that extended a simple beauty tool into a cultural narrative was considered special, and its eco-friendly design, which omits the plastic structure that occupied the largest volume in conventional hair rollers and reduces plastic use by 80%, garnered attention.
Since its launch, Curlrol has received significant attention for its stylish design and anticipated high convenience, sparking interest in various online and offline distribution channels.
