Ko Young-wook criticizes Lee Sang-min at the start of the New Year… comments on ‘SBS Award Win’: “Many can’t understand it.”

Go Young-wook, formerly of the group Roo’Ra, criticized Lee Sang-min’s recent award win. Go Young-wook shared two articles on his Twitter account about the controversy surrounding Lee Sang-min’s win at the SBS Entertainment Awards, held on December 30, 2025. Many people believe Ji Seok-jin was more deserving of the award, especially since SBS had previously hinted that he would receive it. The awards show faced additional criticism for its treatment of Ji Seok-jin, who recently lost his mother, by making unreasonable demands of him.

Go Young-wook criticized Lee Sang-min multiple times throughout 2024. In April, he commented on Lee Sang-min’s debt repayment, questioning its authenticity, and in September, he claimed to be the originator of Lee Sang-min’s “crying rap” style. In November, Go Young-wook alleged that he was wronged by Lee Sang-min, including providing financial support under pressure. Additionally, Go Young-wook claimed Lee Sang-min falsified his birth year to 1974 instead of 1973, raising suspicions about his academic record and military exemption.

Go Young-wook debuted in 1994 with Roo’Ra. However, in 2013, he was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months in prison for sexual assault of a minor and was the first celebrity to be required to wear an electronic ankle bracelet for three years and have his personal information publicly disclosed for five years. Following his release, Go Young-wook attempted to return to entertainment through platforms like Instagram and YouTube, but his efforts failed due to his criminal record, and he is currently active only on Twitter.
