Kim Soo-hyun’s tears couldn’t prevent the center from being cut… G-Dragon sends ‘telepathy’ from CL to aespa on ‘Good Day’

[SC Review] Despite Kim Soo-hyun’s Tears, Center Deleted… G-Dragon, From CL to Aespa with ‘Telepathy’ (‘Good Day’)

Reporter Baek Ji-eun from Sports Chosun: The powerful “G-Dragon Squad” lineup has been completed.

On the 6th, MBC’s ‘Good Day’ aired an episode featuring all the participants in the project gathering for the ‘Good Day Assembly’. Participants included Jo Se-ho, Jung Hyung-don, Defconn, Code Kunst, Hwang Jung-min, Lee Soo-hyuk, Im Si-wan, Hwang Kwang-hee, Kian84, Jung Hae-in, Hong Jin-kyung, Kim Go-eun, chef Ahn Seong-jae, Seventeen’s BSS, and Aespa.

The last reinforcement to join was CL from 2NE1. G-Dragon expressed his affection, saying, “She’s like my younger sister and we’ve worked a lot together. I called her because we needed an expert’s touch.”

The song G-Dragon chose for the project was “Telepathy” by City Kids. The song was released in October 1988 and has a strong impact from the first line, “You can tell just by looking at the eyes.”

G-Dragon explained the reason for selecting the song, saying, “It’s something that can be sung like a round and isn’t heavily dependent on vocal range. The song is very sophisticated. I think if we reinterpret and sing a song that we had forgotten, it will appeal across generations.”

Members freely sang while looking at the sheet music, and G-Dragon expressed his expectations, saying, “I realized that when good people are together, it becomes a good day.”

Following this, G-Dragon met IU, who has experience in remaking various famous songs, for arrangements. IU shared, “I remade senior artists’ songs for the ‘Flower Bookmark’ album, but I had the concern that ‘since it’s already a famous song, can it be better?’ or ‘Wouldn’t this be damaging?’ But I think you can approach it as a new genre by sampling the original since you’re great at hip-hop,” she advised.

Recording was conducted according to individual schedules, with the 88-line group starting first. Kwang-hee showed nervousness by fussing, and Im Si-wan calmed him by saying, “You don’t have many parts anyway.” Kwang-hee jokingly asked G-Dragon, his final couple in 88 Country, “Shouldn’t our couple go somewhere together?” to which G-Dragon firmly responded, “Let’s go home.”

G-Dragon showed passion by directly directing the recording and even providing one-on-one personal lessons. When Jung Hae-in, who was the first to go on stage, became so nervous that his voice diminished, G-Dragon offered special coaching by saying, “It’s just like acting.”

Meanwhile, Kim Soo-hyun, who is caught up in private life controversies, was not visible in this episode. During a beloved item auction, Kim Soo-hyun was clearly sitting in the center, but his appearance was completely deleted. He also did not appear in the 88-line group recording scene.

Kim Soo-hyun is alleged to have dated Kim Sae-ron for six years beginning when she was a minor at 15 years old. Recently, he held a press conference stating that he only started dating Kim Sae-ron after she became an adult, asking for empathy for his life as a global star, and broke down in tears. Moreover, Kim Soo-hyun filed a lawsuit against Kim Sae-ron’s family and the YouTube channel ‘Garo Sero Institute (Gaseyeon)’ for about 11 billion KRW. In response, Gaseyeon released a series of videos and KakaoTalk conversation extracts as evidence of Kim Soo-hyun dating Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor.
