Singer Na Hoon-a continued to make political remarks at his retirement concert, drawing criticism from culture critic Kim Gap-soo, who called it “despicable.”
On the 13th, a video titled “Angry Kim Gap-soo: ‘Na Hoon-a is a Cunning Old Man'” was uploaded to the YouTube channel ‘Maebul Show.’
During the show, host Choi Wook mentioned, “Na Hoon-a spoke about an insurrection at his retirement concert. The current situation is quite serious, which is why it’s causing controversy,” adding, “Why are such divisive remarks being made now?”
In response, Kim Gap-soo criticized, “It’s despicable. He’s trying to dodge criticism when it’s inconvenient by not clearly siding with one party.” He further commented, “He’s 78 years old, and it’s important to view it from the perspective of why people of his age act like this.”
Previously, during his concert at the KSPO Dome in Songpa-gu, Seoul, on the 10th, Na Hoon-a expressed his thoughts on the arrest and impeachment situation involving President Yoon Seok-yeol.
He stated, “Since I’m retiring from my singing career, I wasn’t going to comment, but it’s ridiculous how the left accuses the right of being wrong,” criticizing the Democratic Party with comments like, “Have you done well, left?”
Democratic Party members such as lawmakers Kim Won-i and Choi Min-hee, and Kim Young-rok, governor of Jeollanam-do, responded to Na Hoon-a’s concert remarks with comments like, “Why meddle when you could just retire quietly?” and “The current situation shouldn’t be understood through simplistic partisan logic.”
In response, during his performance on the 12th, Na Hoon-a stated, “I can accept criticism from you (the audience), but I won’t forgive those (politicians) for their comments,” adding, “How dare they interrupt when an elder is speaking? They should do their jobs properly,” expressing his displeasure.
