[Sports Chosun Online – Reporter Lee Woo-joo] Singer Kim Heung-gook shared his thoughts on the political turmoil involving President Yoon Suk-yeol’s declaration of martial law and the impeachment protests.
Recently, Kim Heung-gook’s YouTube channel received numerous questions from netizens asking for his opinion on President Yoon’s martial law declaration and the impeachment protests. This is because Kim Heung-gook is a known supporter of the conservative government in the entertainment industry. He actively participated in campaigning for the People Power Party candidates during the April 10 general election.
In response, netizens bombarded him with questions like, “Please say something about the current situation of the country,” “What do you think about this emergency martial law?” and “Why haven’t you said anything?” To this, Kim Heung-gook simply replied, “Silence.”
When asked, “The Marines made a statement calling for the president’s resignation. What do you think?” he responded, “Mind your own business.” Regarding the question about martial law, he said, “Only those in Yongsan would know. I’m just an entertainer. I just hope the country does well. I love South Korea.”
He also clicked ‘like’ on a comment that suggested he should quickly lead the Marines to protect President Yoon Suk-yeol from impeachment.
Meanwhile, last August, Kim Heung-gook produced a documentary film titled ‘And When the Magnolia Blooms’, which portrays the life stories of former President Park Chung-hee and First Lady Yuk Young-soo.
