Jung Woo-sung, After the ‘Illegitimate Child’ Controversy… Seen Thriving in China After Leaving Korea [Star Issue]

The recent activities of actor Jung Woo-sung, referred to as “father,” have become a hot topic in China. According to News1 on the 3rd, Jung Woo-sung, a co-founder of Artist Company along with Lee Jung-jae, recently visited Beijing, China, to meet with local entertainment industry officials. He specifically met with representatives from Alibaba Group’s entertainment company, raising expectations for a potential lifting of China’s ban on Korean cultural content known as the “Korean Wave” embargo.

The media reported that Jung Woo-sung and Lee Jung-jae discussed potential collaborative film productions between Korea and China with local industry contacts. Their activities have garnered significant attention on Chinese social media, with sightings of the two widely shared on Weibo. Previously, they were seen visiting a cigar bar with prominent Chinese actress Zhou Dongyu.

Jung Woo-sung’s appearance is particularly noteworthy as it follows a personal scandal last November, where he acknowledged having a son with model Moon Ga-bi, without being married to her. He emphasized his commitment to being a responsible father.

Jung Woo-sung is slated to return to his acting career this year with the global OTT platform Disney+ series “Made in Korea.”
