On the 20th, Park Jin-young shared, “Just before the last live broadcast of ‘The Dancing Singer’, my father passed away and went to heaven.” He continued, “I travel around the world for work, and surprisingly, he passed while I was recording just 10 minutes away from his hospital. Thanks to that, I was able to see him while he was still alive and also soon after he passed.” He expressed gratitude for being able to be with his father in his final moments.
He added, “In fact, my father had been suffering from dementia for a long time, and in the past year, he was nearly unconscious, so our family was prepared in our hearts.” He conveyed his sorrow by saying, “Still, seeing my father after he passed made my heart drop to the floor.”
He continued, “Still, during the early stages of dementia when he became childlike and pure, he heard about Jesus and came to fully believe in the gospel, so as a Christian family, we were somewhat able to hold on. Knowing where he went and that we will meet again soon helps. Without that belief, it would have been incredibly difficult.” He expressed his reliance on faith.
Park Jin-young addressed his father saying, “My Best Friend, whom I called Dad instead of Father until the end, who always believed in me and cheered me on. Now you’re reading this from heaven. I became someone like this all thanks to you. Thank you, Dad. You were truly the best dad to me. Let’s have many conversations when we meet again.”
Finally, Park Jin-young made a request, “To acquaintances, I’m sorry, but we will hold the funeral quietly with just our family, so please be with us in spirit.”
