Jeon Hye-jin returns as a working mom after parting with the late Lee Sun-kyun… ‘Riding Life’ poster revealed

Actress Jeon Hye-jin is returning to the small screen after the passing of her husband, the late Lee Sun-kyun. On the 20th, the new Genie TV original drama “Riding Life” (written by Seong Yoon-ah, directed by Kim Chul-kyu) unveiled character posters featuring Jeon Hye-jin, Jo Min-soo, and Kim Sa-rang as a three-generation family.

“Riding Life” is a drama about the passionate working mom Lee Jung-eun (played by Jeon Hye-jin), who hands over her daughter’s academy rides to her mother, Yoon Ji-ah (played by Jo Min-soo), as her daughter approaches the crucial ‘age seven entry test.’ This term refers to tests required for admission into prestigious English academies, depicting the competitive world of early childhood education in a humorous and relatable way.

The released character posters reveal the different perspectives and thoughts of the three-generation family involved in the competitive academic environment of Daechi-dong. The posters highlight the work-life balance struggles of Lee Jung-eun, the involvement of Yoon Ji-ah in her granddaughter’s education, and the charming presence of Lee Jung-eun’s daughter, Hong Seo-yoon (played by Kim Sa-rang).

Jeon Hye-jin portrays a busy working mom who balances her job and childcare. Lee Jung-eun, unable to take off her work ID, rushes, saying, “I’ll be there soon, wait for me,” sparking curiosity about her busy life. With the tagline “Do all moms know everything?” Jo Min-soo’s character hints at potential mother-daughter conflicts, as Yoon Ji-ah learns about the different world of her granddaughter’s education compared to her past experiences while raising her daughter.

Child actor Kim Sa-rang, playing the role of Hong Seo-yoon, expresses her love for her mother’s preferences with a lively smile, anticipating the birth of a new child star with her confident performance.

The production team of “Riding Life” stated, “The synergy created by the trusted actors Jeon Hye-jin, Jo Min-soo, and child actor Kim Sa-rang will exceed expectations,” while authentically portraying the unique early education landscape and the story of the three-generation family with “200% reality empathy.”

“Riding Life” is set to premiere at 10 PM on March 3rd on Genie TV and ENA.

Meanwhile, Jeon Hye-jin’s husband, Lee Sun-kyun, was investigated by the police in October 2023 under suspicion of violating drug control laws related to cannabis and psychotropics. He tested negative in forensic analysis, but after three police summonses and requesting a lie detector test, he was found dead the next day. The police, responding to criticism of pressuring investigation tactics, did not accept fault, and the case was closed due to his passing.
