The main actor of the movie “Harbin,” Hyun Bin, expressed his gratitude towards his wife, Son Ye-jin. On the morning of the 19th, Hyun Bin participated in an interview with Star News at a cafe in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, discussing the release of his new film “Harbin,” which is set to premiere on the 24th.
“Harbin” portrays the journey of General Ahn Jung-geun, a highly respected figure among South Koreans, and his comrades as they set out for Harbin with a singular goal in 1909. The film is directed by Woo Min-ho, known for his work on “Inside Men” and “The Man Standing Next.”
During the interview, Hyun Bin revealed that he received significant solace from his colleague and wife, Son Ye-jin, while filming “Harbin.” The couple married in March 2022 and welcomed their son in November of the same year.
He shared, “The role of Ahn Jung-geun and the nature of the film made it a challenging project. My wife, being an actress herself, understood this well. Her words, like ‘You did well, you worked hard,’ after the filming ended gave me immense strength. I was constantly filming, so my wife must have felt lonely too. Despite her own challenges with caring for our child, I was grateful for her support.”
Hyun Bin also spoke about his changed perspective as a father to his two-year-old son. “Just before I started preparing and filming for this project, our child was born. When he grows to an age where he can understand the content, I want to tell him, ‘When you were born, your dad was portraying this great figure of our country.’ Personally, I wanted to make ‘Harbin’ a success for him.”
He emphasized, “I want to leave a better world for my child. Whatever point it is, the future should be brighter, and as a father, I feel it’s my role to contribute to that.”
