‘Eoljjang Generation’ late Lee Chi-hoon passes away from sepsis → Mother also follows son to eternal rest, ‘Tearful 5th Anniversary’

Lee Chi-hun, a broadcaster known for his appearance in “Ulzzang Generation,” has been gone for five years. He passed away on March 19, 2020, due to acute sepsis at the age of 32.

Before his death, Lee Chi-hun was admitted to a hospital with symptoms of lymphadenitis and body aches. He was later transferred to a university hospital as he developed high fever and vomiting. He was diagnosed with bacterial encephalitis and was receiving treatment but ultimately succumbed to acute sepsis. At that time, he tested negative for COVID-19.

After noticing his declining health, Lee Chi-hun posted a message saying, “I’ve been visiting the hospital due to lymphadenitis for a couple of days, but today I’ve also developed a severe body ache. I hope it’s not COVID-19. I don’t even have the strength to hold a mouse, so I’m posting this notice on my mobile. These are tough times for everyone, let’s hang in there.” This turned out to be his last public message.

His funeral was held without a viewing and his inheritance was donated to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation. His mother commented, “Even when he was alive, my son had a kind and frugal character. He was someone who spread good influence to those around him. I decided to donate his assets to save lives, believing that it would make him happier in heaven.”

However, it was later revealed that Lee Chi-hun’s mother also passed away in October the following year, adding to the sorrow around his death. A message was posted on Lee Chi-hun’s social media saying, “A son who doesn’t answer no matter how often he’s called. A son who can’t be seen no matter how far you search. A son who won’t return home despite waiting at the doorway all night…. The mother has gone to find her son. Please pray for her.” After Lee Chi-hun’s passing, his mother had also shared a heartfelt message on his social media expressing her grief and affection for him.

Born in 1988, Lee Chi-hun gained recognition through the Comedy TV show “Ulzzang Generation” and had also been active as a broadcaster on AfreecaTV.
