“Don’t talk about that,” Song Hye-kyo, why she stopped Jeon Yeo-been (The Black Nuns)

Actor Song Hye-kyo gently stopped Jeon Yeo-bin from mentioning her “school days.” On the 16th, a production briefing for the film “The Black Nuns” was held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Director Kwon Hyuk-jae, along with actors Song Hye-kyo, Jeon Yeo-bin, Lee Jin-wook, and Moon Woo-jin, attended the event and shared various stories.

“The Black Nuns” is a film about people who perform forbidden rituals to save a boy possessed by a powerful evil spirit. It is the sequel to director Jang Jae-hyun’s film “The Priests” (2015), which drew 5.44 million viewers and was praised for opening a new chapter in Korean occult cinema.

In “The Black Nuns,” Song Hye-kyo plays the role of Sister Yunia, who has a strong will and a bold personality, while Jeon Yeo-bin plays Sister Mikaela, who is full of both suspicion and curiosity.

Song Hye-kyo and Jeon Yeo-bin collaborated for the first time with “The Black Nuns.” Song expressed, “I always wanted to work with Jeon Yeo-bin. Many actors I’m close to are close to her as well, and I’ve heard so many good things. Working with her on set was even better than what I heard. She was a great support for me, my savior. Without Sister Yuniela, Sister Yunia couldn’t have done anything.”

In response, Jeon Yeo-bin talked about working with Song and mentioned her “school days,” leading Song to cautiously stop her, bringing laughter to the event.

Jeon Yeo-bin shared, “During my school days, she was like a goddess I admired and wanted to emulate. I wanted to meet her someday. Even at the ‘Blue Dragon Series Awards,’ I waited to greet her as an actor junior. My affection for her was growing, and I finally got to meet her this time, which made me very happy.”

Jeon added that she called Song Hye-kyo “my Yunia” on set. “I actually call my close friends ‘my ㅇㅇ.’ She was like a warm beacon on set, standing firm with quiet charisma, embracing everyone. I hope that when audiences watch ‘The Black Nuns,’ they’ll feel like saying ‘my Yunia’ as the ending credits roll,” she said.
