[Sports Chosun, Reporter Baek Ji-eun] An actor Ko Seong-hwan’s gossip revelation has surfaced.
On the MBC show ‘Radio Star’ aired on the 13th, actor Cheon Jung-myung, Lee Joo-seung, singer Jo Kwon, and mixed martial artist Choi Hong-man appeared as guests.
Lee Joo-seung shared, “I am an introvert, so I used to have a phobia of answering calls. I couldn’t even say I rang the bell by mistake on the bus, so I just got off, and I couldn’t scold my pet dog.”
He mentioned how he helped his close friend Ko Seong-hwan get featured in MBC’s ‘I Live Alone’, which drew attention. However, their first meeting wasn’t pleasant.
Lee Joo-seung recalled, “We first met through an acquaintance. I’m quite shy, so I didn’t say a word. That day, I overheard Ko Seong-hwan talking behind my back in the bathroom. He was saying things like, ‘That junior XX doesn’t say anything and just acts cool in front of seniors.'” He added, “I felt embarrassed when I showed my face.”
He continued, “I apologized, saying I was really shy and wanted to be friends, and Ko suggested, ‘Let’s go camping tomorrow.’ We went camping right away, did some courage training, and became close.”
Ko Seong-hwan gained popularity by showcasing his villa rooftop life on ‘I Live Alone’. He recently gained attention by revealing the process of waterproofing the rooftop and wallpapering the main room himself due to a leakage issue.
However, it came to light that this villa was a building gifted by his father, which sparked controversy over ‘pretending to be poor.’
Responding to this, Ko Seong-hwan clarified on the 12th, “It is true that this building belongs to my father. I received it as a gift around 2021. I was vague about my past and personal matters on the show because it felt awkward to talk about. I didn’t expect it to grow into such an issue.” He added, “I turned the house I grew up in into a villa. The gift was because my father wasn’t in good health, so I received it in advance. I pay rent to my father regularly. I never pretended to be poor on the show.”
