BTS’s Jungkook’s solo album ‘GOLDEN’ has achieved immense popularity in the United States. Recently, platforms like ‘World Music Awards’ (WMA), often referred to as the ‘Billboard of Europe’, and ‘chart data’, which provides real-time updates on global music charts, reported through their official accounts that Jungkook’s album sold over 1 million units in the US.
Jungkook, with his first solo studio album ‘GOLDEN’, released in November last year, surpassed sales of over 1 million units in the US. Previously, ‘GOLDEN’ was also the highest-selling debut album by a male artist in the past decade, with 8.4 million sales worldwide.
Upon release, ‘GOLDEN’ set a record as the first and highest-selling album by a K-pop solo artist in the US, with over 200,000 sales in its first week, and made history as the first K-pop solo artist to achieve over 500,000 album sales in the US in 2023.
Additionally, all tracks from ‘GOLDEN’ have sold over 100,000 units in the US. Jungkook also set a new record by becoming the first-ever K-pop solo artist to have five songs (Standing Next To You, Seven, 3D, Euphoria, Left and Right) each selling over 1 million units in the US. ‘Seven’ sold more than 2 million units in the US and received a ‘Double Platinum’ certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
