BTS’s Jimin’s solo track “Lie” has reached a significant milestone on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform. As of October 10th, “Lie” surpassed 250 million streams. Originally featured on BTS’s 2016 album “Wings,” “Lie” was Jimin’s first solo song and achieved the remarkable feat of reaching 200 million streams, becoming the 53rd BTS track to do so, excluding the title track “Blood Sweat & Tears.”
Demonstrating its popularity in the U.S. market, “Lie” became the first solo song by a BTS member to reach 100 million on-demand streams in January 2022. Additionally, Jimin’s other solo track “Serendipity Full Length” saw similar success by selling over 500,000 units in the U.S. within February 2022. These achievements led to Jimin becoming the first Korean idol to have two solo songs receive Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America.
On another note, Jimin has three songs from BTS albums—”Lie” (250 million), “Serendipity” (288 million), and “Filter” (457 million)—each surpassing 250 million streams. As of October 10th, his Spotify profile has accumulated over 5 billion streams. With these accomplishments, Jimin is the eighth most-streamed Korean artist on the platform, with 4 billion of these streams attributed to his solo songs, making him the most-streamed Korean solo artist on Spotify.
