[Sports Chosun’s Lee Yoo-na Reporter] Actor Song Joong-ki appeared on a music show for the first time in 17 years since his debut.
On the 10th, Song Joong-ki appeared on KBS 2TV’s “The Seasons – Lee Young-ji’s Rainbow” and showcased his singing.
Song Joong-ki said, “This studio doesn’t feel unfamiliar. About 10 years ago, I was an MC for ‘Music Bank’ here for two years. I wasn’t nervous then, but I’m very nervous today,” adding, “Fans have joked that they would sue me if I sing and dance, but today, I’m ready to be sued by the fans,” he declared.
MC Lee Young-ji commented, “‘A Werewolf Boy’ is my favorite movie. I wanted to marry you, but it’s a shame you’re married now.”
Lee Young-ji recalled Song Joong-ki’s days as the ‘Music Bank’ MC, and when footage from that time was shown, Song Joong-ki humorously protested, saying, “Director, I love you. Please stop showing it.”
Song Joong-ki reminisced, “I remember auditioning for the MC position when it became available. I think it was in 2009 or 2010, and it was so much fun. I didn’t want to miss out on it.”
As a father of two, Song Joong-ki confessed that his YouTube algorithm has changed since raising his children.
Song Joong-ki shared, “With my first child, a 19-month-old son, it seems like he looks more like his mom, while my daughter seems to look more like me. Since becoming the head of the family, my thoughts have changed. I feel that I need to do a lot of good while I have influence in society, as that will create a better world for my children. That thought keeps growing stronger. Specifically, my YouTube algorithm seems to have changed. It’s now full of channels like ‘Bbo Bbo Bbo 119’ and ‘My Golden Kids’ suggested by teachers when the kids are sick or whining. I’ve watched all episodes of Dr. Oh Eun-young’s ‘My Golden Kids’ for parenting education.”
Lee Young-ji asked, “If your child turned out to be a handful and eventually became someone like me, how would you educate them?” Song Joong-ki replied, “Even though you humbly called yourself a handful, I don’t think so. You’re so wonderful. As a rookie dad, I often have conversations with my wife about it. We say, ‘The biggest education we can give our children is sincerely loving each other.'”
Song Joong-ki also revealed that his taste in music reflects his love for his wife. “Since my wife has been exposed to Korean music and culture through me, she tends to enjoy the songs I play. I personally like Jannabi’s songs, and because I played them often, she particularly enjoys ‘For Lovers Who Hesitate.’ She also likes Kwak Jin-eon’s ‘Pride,'” he said.
He went on to mention, “When I want comfort or someone to lean on, I watch the drama ‘My Mister.’ On the show, he sang ‘The Reflection of My Heart,’ a remake by Kwak Jin-eon from the drama’s OST, with calmness.”
