T’way Air Flight Attendant Saves Life of Passenger in 60s Who Suffered Cardiac Arrest Onboard

“Calm Response in an Urgent Situation”, T’way Air flight attendants saved the life of a 60-year-old French passenger who lost consciousness due to cardiac arrest on board.

According to T’way Air on the 11th, a flight attendant discovered an unconscious male passenger who collapsed during the first meal service on flight TW402, which was traveling from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Korea on the 2nd.

The flight attendant immediately performed CPR after determining the passenger had no pulse and had stopped breathing. Another attendant assisting with the service reported the situation to the cabin chief and identified any medical professionals among the passengers. An automated external defibrillator (AED) was also deployed to continue resuscitation efforts.

T’way Air crew moved the passenger to a spacious business class seat and monitored his condition with the help of a French nurse among the passengers. As a result, the passenger quickly regained consciousness and disembarked normally at Incheon International Airport.

Kim Sang-man, the flight attendant who initially responded, stated, “When I first discovered the patient, I tried to remain calm and solve the situation by recalling the training I had received. I am grateful to the passengers and colleagues who assisted. I will continue to perform inflight safety duties with a sense of duty and do my best.”
