‘The New Avante N’ Wins 2nd Round of TCR World Tour

Aiming for the first overall victory

Hyundai’s high-performance model, the new Avante N, clinched victory in the second round of the TCR World Tour.

Hyundai Motor Company announced on the 16th that the “New Elantra N TCR” (known domestically as the New Avante N TCR) won the second round of the 2025 TCR World Tour, which took place from June 13 to 15 (local time) at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Spain.

The Ricardo Tormo Circuit, where the race took place, opened in 1999 and has hosted various motorsport events, including motorcycle races. It features a mix of high-speed straight sections and medium- to low-speed corner sections, demanding balanced driving skills from drivers.

Néstor Girolami, who competed with the New Elantra N TCR race car, crossed the finish line fastest in the second final race held on the 15th, lifting the trophy.

Girolami gained 30 points for his victory in the second final race, added to the 16 points he earned in the first final race and 22 points in the third race, totaling 68 points during this event. He is ranked 6th in the 2025 season driver standings.

Norbert Michelisz, who also participated, achieved the best result of 4th place in the first of the three final races, earning a total of 48 points over the event, placing him 9th in the season standings. Notably, he ranked 1st in the TCR World Tour individual rankings consecutively in 2023 and 2024.

Mikel Azcona earned a total of 24 points in this event, placing 13th in the 2025 season driver standings.

The “BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse” team, which the three drivers are part of, amassed a total of 124 points in this round, aiming for their first overall team victory this year, as they rank 3rd in the team standings.

The TCR World Tour is a competition where manufacturers are not allowed to enter directly, and professional racing teams using manufacturer-purchased race cars participate. Winning in the TCR competition, with its standardized specifications, indicates the excellence of a manufacturer’s mass-produced car performance.

The TCR World Tour consists of a total of eight rounds this year, following the second round held in Spain, with additional races scheduled in Italy, Portugal, Australia, Korea, China, and Macau.

A Hyundai representative stated, “We are delighted to meet fans’ expectations by winning the TCR World Tour Spain event, and together with the BRC Hyundai N Squadra Corse team, we aim for overall victories in both individual and team categories this year.”
